Beginning Monday 7th September a special week-long series presented by Katherine will mark the 70th anniversary since the outbreak of World War Two. 'The Week We Went to War' will celebrate the everyday heroes of the Home Front, from families who took in evacuees to ordinary people who risked their lives saving those trapped inside bombed buildings. Among Katherine's special guests will be Michael Aspel who will discuss his wartime memories and experiences as an evacuee, while BBC antiques expert Tim Wonnacott visits Bletchley Park to look at everyday wartime items that have become collectables. Katherine Jenkins said: "For young people like myself, there are a lot of events I was unaware of because they happened on the Home Front – terrible things like the Bethnal Green Tube disaster, where 173 people died. I have learnt so much." Join Katherine by tuning in on BBC One everyday next week at 9.15am.

Hi there! I’m just in the car on my way to do more magazine interviews – today I’m doing Billboard, Asda Magazine and The Lady. I also did a shoot yesterday for the front cover of a magazine, but I can’t tell you which one just yet as it’s top secret! I can tell you that they gave me a totally new image, one that I think will surprise you all! This weekend I went to a BBQ at Phillip Schofield’s house. It was quite an intimate get together and he has such a lovely family. I’ve been doing lots of final training for Sunday’s race, focusing on interval training to build my stamina. I’m starting to get quite nervous now, I know I’ll complete the race I just don’t want to do it in an embarrassing time! I'm looking forward to seeing the crowds, I'm sure their cheers will motivate me to give it everything I've got. My stylist, Cheryl came round on Friday with bags and bags of clothes for me to try on for my upcoming shows. I was in my element (like any girl would be!) when I saw all the shoes! Cheryl has great taste and knows exactly what suits me so I’m so lucky to have her shopping for me. Tomorrow I’m doing a shoot for the cover of Classic FM. Then I’m heading over to the BBC for studios for The One Show to talk about my new series, The Week We Went To War. Make sure you tune in tomorrow at 7pm! Speak again soon, Lots of love Katherine xx

Hello all, I’ve been down in Wales this weekend, spending time on the beach and having BBQ’s with my family. I met my cousin’s 18-month-old son for the first time. He was gorgeous! I’m so lucky to have such a big family and I definitely want kids one day…but not until I’m a bit older!
Walking my dog, Lily. I have a radio interview with Ruth Jones later this week, it's for the BBC Wales Bank Holiday Sunday Brunch Programme. I’m really looking forward to talking to her, I love her in Gavin and Stacey. I also met up with Liz Rosenberg last week, my American press agent. She was in the UK doing some work with Madonna! Liz is absolutely hilarious and has become a really good friend; my nickname for her is ‘Ledge’ because she’s such a legend! I’ve been training quite hard in preparation for next week’s Cardiff 10K. On Sunday I ran around Mumbles, a big bay in Swansea. I did 9K in an 1hr 05 without stopping, which I was really pleased with. Bearing in mind I ran in the torrential rain, I’m hoping that conditions on the actual race day won’t get much worse. I was aching like mad afterwards and had to have a massage to sort me out. It’s all worth it though - I’m so proud of the fact that we’ve already raised nearly £5,000 and the publicity generated for the charities will be enormous. Take a look at my fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/katherinejenkins Take care, Katherine x

Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying this lovely sunshine? This week is actually my holiday week, so I’ve been so lucky with the weather! I’m thinking of joining my friend Sophie for some sunbathing in the garden later this afternoon. This weekend I went down to Somerset to help my friend Lisa celebrate her birthday. We spent the day at a Spa, being pampered and having lots of lovely, girlie treatments. I don’t get to see Lisa as often as I’d like, so it was great to catch up with her. You won’t believe this but yesterday I did my Christmas shopping! The shop assistants at Westfield were looking at me very oddly when I asked if they had any Christmas wrapping paper, ha ha. I figure it’s so much less stressful to be prepared and get it out the way now, I know I’ll be so busy with the new album over the coming months. It was great to catch up with David (Foster) when he came over last week. On Thursday night we had a special dinner with the heads of radio at the Cannought Hotel. We presented them with the tracks from the album, so I was quite nervous. Thankfully their reaction was really enthusiastic and they loved them – we were only supposed to play six tracks but they asked to hear more. I can’t wait for you to hear the new tracks too! Let me know how you’ve all been enjoying this lovely weather... Speak soon Love, Katherine x
