Hi everyone, Sorry it’s been a while since I last blogged, I’ve been really busy performing my live summer dates across the UK. It’s been a magical summer thanks to this fantastic weather. The sunshine always makes these outdoor performances so much more special. Performing in Llangollen at the International Eisteddfod event was a particularly special occasion for me. I haven’t performed there since the beginning of my career. It was so good to go back and say thanks to everyone who has supported me from the early days. I also performed at a private wedding in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which was just spectacular. I celebrated my 30th birthday recently too. I had a wonderful weekend with family and friends staying at a beautiful manor house in the countryside. There were lots of presents and surprises; I was a very lucky girl. It’s great to hit 30 and be thoroughly happy with your lot. If the next ten years are as great as the last, I will be a very happy lady. As I’m sure you will have heard by now, I’m set to be in the Doctor Who Christmas Special! I’ve never acted before in my life so was really nervous at the audition. I was absolutely blown away when I was told I had got the job! Talk about the icing on my 30th birthday cake! The weird thing was that after my audition, and during my birthday stay at the manor house, I bumped into Dr Who aka Matt Smith, he was staying at the same place as me. Talk about an omen! Since getting the job I’ve been so busy filming but it’s been an incredible learning experience and such an honour to be part of something so iconic. I’m absolutely sworn to secrecy and can’t give anything away about my character, but I will say I look great in a Dalek costume, hahaha. You’re in for a treat this Christmas! I attended the Cartier International Polo day recently. You might have seen some funny pictures on the Daily Mail website. I laughed when I saw them as they suggested I was drunk, but I was actually the sober one! Haha. I’d spent the day in Prince Charles’ box where there was no alcohol being served at all. Then afterwards I went down to meet my friends, completely stone cold sober, headed to the bar for a my first drink of the day and that’s when they got the pic! Oh well, it was a lovely day and I was very honoured to chat to Prince Charles about the interesting work he does. It was also lovely to talk to the troops who had been invited along. My friend and I arriving at the Polo.
Hope everyone is well. Take care and speak soon. Love, Katherine x

Hey guys! Well, it’s been such a long time - I’m not sure where to begin! I reckon this might be a long one… After leaving Argentina, I made a trip up to Washington USA, to sing at the 21st Annual Public Broadcasting Service National Memorial Day concert, which was to be shown on TV. I felt really honoured to be asked, as it was an especially emotional event for all those Americans who have family in the military. It was an amazing show, with loads of other American acts and an audience of 300,000, some sitting on the steps of The Capitol itself. I came on to sing a prayer after a video that was shown about the war widows as a result of the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, which was really emotional, but it went well. I was shown the video before the show, and bawled my eyes out, it was so sad. After my five days in America’s capital, I came back to London for a few days and saw ‘Love Never Dies’ at the Adelphi Theatre, and I really enjoyed it! The special effects were brilliant, and the singing performance of the two leads was amazing. It’s completely different to Phantom Of The Opera, but the Andrew Lloyd Webber music was great. I highly recommend it! After that I had an absolutely crazy weekend. I performed for a TV show in Germany, got back from Berlin at something like one in the morning, then got up at seven to fly to Italy to perform at the amphitheatre in Verona. It nearly killed me! It was totally worth it though – I was not prepared for how beautiful the amphitheatre was going to be, and had never seen anything like it. It is possibly one the most romantic settings ever. If you guys are ever in Verona you should go and see an opera there, as it’s the only working amphitheatre left in the world! I did a duet with Lucio Dalla, the world famous singer-songwriter who wrote ‘Caruso’ – I could not believe I was singing it with the composer himself! At the end when we all came on for the finale, I had tears in my eyes because it was just one of those incredible experiences! After all this, I’m sure you’re asking how I keep my energy levels up?! Well, I always try and eat well, usually something like fish and vegetables so that I can feel I’m being as healthy as can be, and I try to make sure we get time to sit down together, as that’s really important. Also, I’m lucky that I can sleep absolutely anywhere – grabbing ten minutes here or there. It’s a skill! After Verona, I got back to London and went to an enormous party for one my friends who had just turned 60. It was at the Grosvenor House in Mayfair, and I performed, along with Motown legend Lionel Ritchie! There were also loads of comedians there, like Bobby Davro, Jim Davidson and Jethro, and it really was the most fun evening. One of my friends, Kev Orkian, from Armenia and on Britain’s Got Talent, and I did a comedy musical routine. It was so hard to rehearse, as I had to learn not to laugh! I might do it in public at some point, so keep your eyes peeled! After that I jetted off to New York for the launch of the album over there. It was a really quick trip, but it couldn’t have gone any better. I did a photo shoot for ‘Interview’ magazine, one of the edgiest and completely different to any I’d ever done before. I then performed ‘Love Never Dies’ on the ‘Today’ show, and it went really well. I then went to a party hosted by Liz Rosenberg, and met lots of important media people, including my friend piers Morgan! It’s rumoured he’s going to replace Larry King, which would be really exciting for him! I flew back the following morning, performed in Sussex, and then the next day I played at Hampton Court, and it could not have rained any more! It was coming in sideways, and I felt really sorry for the audience! I’ve since been to Naples, where I performed on an Italian TV show, ‘Una Voce Per Padre Pio’, which was in memory of an Italian saint and raising money for Africa. It was also a complete washout – my 2nd concert in a week! And as a result of all the rain, I’ve lost my voice and have a terrible cold! I’ve got two more shows coming up this week though, and the big one is playing in Whitehaven on Friday. It was planned before the terrible shootings there, but the people want it to go on, and I’m going to make some dedications for those that lost their lives. Then it’s Chelmsford in Essex on Sunday. Big personal news – it’s my 30th birthday on Tuesday! I’m going away with the family to a private retreat somewhere secret in the UK. I’ve rented it out so 30 of us can go! It’ll be a couple of days of us going out for dinner, hitting the spas and drinking Pimms. I can’t wait! And I’m not stressed at all about hitting 30 – my 20s were better than I could have imagined. I’m just hoping to be a bit wiser in my 30s! Well thanks for reading! Will be back soon. Katherine. xxx

Thanks to everyone who NOMINATED A DAD in our Katherine Jenkins Fathers Day competition. Congratulations Robert Wood! You have been chosen as our overall winner and will receive a signed copy of Katherine’s album ‘Believe’, as well as a congratulatory letter from the lady herself. Robert says, “My dad is always there for me, and he adores my mum. In this crazy world we live in, he stills the waters of all he touches. He is a mountain of a man, both in stature and spirit. Ever ready to help those in need, he has been a guiding light in my every endeavour. His sense of humour and his simple though profound deeds, like tearing the embryonic bag of a still born pup with his teeth and breathing life into it, amaze me to this day. To me he’s always dad of the year.” As promised we have also picked 4 runners up to feature here on KJ.TV. They are as follows: Harvey Selwyn "I would like to nominate my dad for the Fathers Day competition for more reasons than I can fit in to 100 words. He is my hero, my inspiration for everything that I am and do, I owe so much to him. His stories of his time in the war in Burma fill me with untold pride and understand how very lucky we are today to have him as our Dad. His patience and love know no bounds and he is always there with a smile to cheer us up when we feel down." Karen Ashfield "My dad is gentle kind and wise, always there to guide me but knew when to let me go to grow! He is my rock when I am poorly and my Island when I need sanctuary. He gives me hope when I think there is none and taught me to be a fighter but most of all he loved me with no condition. We were not rich but he gave me a gift for life that has no price…his dry sense of humour ! What more can a girl ask for." Mike LaMar "I would like to nominate my stepdad, Tine P. Martin, Sr., for your Best Dad competition. He worked several jobs, to help raise his three children and numerous grandchildren. Tine also served in Korea, during the Korean War, and has been active in local, state, national and international veterans’ organizations. He is also active in church and community affairs." Jen Stirrup "My husband, Stephen, is the best daddy because he loves my sick son dearly. My four year old has been in and out of hospital since birth, with various life-threatening conditions including severe asthma, allergies and gastro-intestinal problems. Sometimes we are transferred to a hospital outside of Hertfordshire; my husband has to drive back and forth between home and the hospital to get us necessities such as clothing and a favourite toy. Although this must be tiring for him, he never complains." Now all that's left to do is wish all Fathers a Happy Fathers Day from Katherine and all at KJ.TV!

I have been dying to write this blog to tell you about the crazy time I had in Argentina! The Warners team are just 'perfecto' and have worked so hard.. After the short 3 hour flight from Sao Paulo, I was greeted in Buenos Aires by hundreds upon hundreds of billboards...of me! "Do you know what an angel sounds like?" was the title of the advertising. Pretty overwhelming.. it made me ever more determined to put on a good show out here.. After a spot of lunch and a quick un-pack (actually it's never a 'quick' unpack - 3 suit cases and 30 dresses!!), it was rehearsal time for the next days big showcase. 5 songs, a Dolce and Gabana dress, loads of interviews and some delicious Fredo ice-cream! Invited were the vice-president, famous pop and classical singers, actors and celebs. The venue was perfect, the audience were fab, and I really enjoyed it! The night went as well as I could have hoped...after a whole load of press interviews and loads of pics I went to bed exhausted, but exhilarated. No rest, TV shows including the Susana Gimenex show, the Argentine Oprah, radio and print interviews. An hour off, so I went to see the famous Eva Peron balcony... I loved Evita and I've always wanted to visit the balcony. We just had time to see the place where she was laid to rest. A nice moment to pay my respects to a such a loved woman. Straight back to the hotel to prepare for my first album signing in South America, I was really worried that nobody would turn up... I was so surprised. The venue was an and old theatre converted into a record/book shop! After singing a few songs (Oscar De La Rente!), I sat and signed autographs for hours... People were so friendly. Some were saying "you are a gift from god", "I've never heard an angel sing before", "will you marry me" (I always seem to get a few of those!), and my personal favourite.."up until now I've only liked Megadeath..but now I like your music too!!". A couple of people just cried and pushed the CD towards me to sign... Then came a day I'll never forget! I sang at the River Plate stadium in front of a partisan 60,000 crowd. Argentina v Canada.. I could only see one Canadian flag in the mass crowd...and guess which anthem I'd been asked to sing?! I gave it my best shot, (in my old faithful Victoria Beckham LBD, with YSL shoes!), and much to my surprise I was given such a lovely warm reception... I even spotted the man himself Diego Maradona clapping approvingly out the corner of my eye! I'm not a massive football fan as you know, but I really enjoyed watching the game..a bit one sided as Argentina beat Canada 5-0.. Check out who predicted the right score!! How did James know that?!! 'Messi' wasn't playing...hmm, who had he been talking too? After the game I had the honour of meeting Maradona.. He's seen as a God out here! I gave him a signed CD and told him I already had a shirt signed by him on the wall at home... He gave me another signed shirt. How do you top a day like that... Argentine Tango that's how... We went to see a show in town - our last night in Buenos Aires. Amazing, gorgeous, sexy, beautiful... Needless to say, I loved it. Thank you Argentina..."don't cry", I will be back, I love you too! Thanks for reading, be in touch soon. Katherine xxx
