I have just returned from an amazingly brilliant concert at the Usher Hall. Katherine was on top form and having a great time.

She sang from the normal tour programme but added "I Will Pray For You" which she dedicated to the troops and said that she is planning her next visit later in the year. She had a tickle in her throat during this and had to stop to cough and have a drink of water. Once she recovered she started again and sang superbly.

"Una Voce Poca Fa" was again well received by the appreciative audience as was "Pie Jesu". It is very hard to pick out a favourite as the full programme was wonderful.

She had the usual Q&A session and a few new items were covered and Derek sneaked in again. During this she was asked to sing "Amazing Grace" as she was in Scotland and, of course, she obliged to resounding applause. Katherine's whole performance was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

After "Time To Say Goodbye" she got a standing ovation so rounded off with "We'll Meet Again" and got a second well deserved standing ovation.

The four dresses were those seen on prior concerts but she was looking just as stunning as ever.

There were two supporting acts ( both currently studying at Edinburgh University ). The first was Alexandra Wellbourn, a saxophonist and the second was Claudia Banks, a flautist. Both were very good but I definitely preferred the flautists performance.

Anthony Inglis was on form also but this time was conducting the Royal Scottish National Orchestra who did a sterling job with the music.

There was no photography allowed in the Auditorium so i just concentrated on enjoying the concert.

So a big [b]Thank You[/b] to Katherine for another superb performance!!

I will try to post more tomorrow (or should that be later today) when I get back down from the clouds!!

A Winner at Cheltenham

As always expectations were high, but Katherine met them easily and delivered a sparkling performance. Anthony Inglis was at the helm of the orchestra, and was already joking during the opening instrumental. I was a bit nervous about the weather after seeing some of the clouds while we were in the queue, but fortunately by the performance the sky had cleared, although that did mean the temperature dropped quite a bit.

We were treated to 'Til There Was You (with a more classical style vocal than the album), La Vie en Rose, and Nella Fantasia which is one of my favourites.
Diana Yukawa provided support. She is a lovely young Japanese-English violinist, and is credited as a writer too for most of the music she performed on the evening. Unfortunately I was distracted as I broke my glasses putting my top on and spent most of her set fixing them.
Katherine's second set was Una Voce Poco Fa (which I think IS my favourite), L'amore Sei Tu, and Parla Piu Piano (renamed The Godfather for the night). Katherine also gave a shout-out to the forum and Diamond Club members who have been supporting her on this tour.

The second half was Hallelujah, Habanera from Carmen, the Q & A where Katherine had requests to perform I Vow To Thee My Country and the Welsh Anthem which she did a capella (impressively too), followed by Love Never Dies.
Diana Yukawa performed again. She could have taken the easy route and performed well known pieces but she did something different and it was well received.
Final set was Non Ti Scordar Di Me, Angel (without the aerial spin), Time to Say Goodbye, The Proms, and We'll Meet Again. Anthony had his fun conducting the audience and Katherine had her turn with the baton too.

Katherine was on good form chatting, and sometimes rambling between songs. She was joking about her near Marilyn-Moment in the wind, and gave a great big laugh when she saw the assembled Welsh flags and hats from the forum members at the front. Some of her cheeky "questions" in the Q & A however are a bit past retirement age.

I really enjoy the format of these summer concerts. As always meeting with forum members adds something extra special to the evening too. Katherine obviously attracts a very high class of fan ;)

Once again I took an excess of photos, I'll try and sort out and upload a few of them a bit later.

Next stop: Llangollen. Maybe I will even learn how to pronounce it.

Hi all

Very surprised to be the first writing a very brief note about this show while I am sat in Birmingham airport.

Firstly, it was another stunning performance from Katherine, sounding and looking beautiful. Katherine had her Mum and various family and friends (including Gethin) in the audience and seemed like she was a touch nervous to start with but she also said she was really excited to be performing back home in Wales.

We were seated awaiting the start of the show when Gethin came and sat in the row in front of us and then we spotted that Katherine's mum was in the row in front of him.

I am sure there will be detailed reports to follow from many of those forum members who were there, it was good to meet some friends old and new both before and after the show. Then we were fortunate enough to join a group of other members at the meet & greet where Katherine was her usual self. The young lady from Warners is so desperately trying to get the m&g more regimented and always tells us that Katherine is in a rush so keep it brief. Fortunately for those of us lucky enough to get the invite to an m&g, Katherine doesn't seem to know she is supposed to be in a rush. She always has time for a chat with everyone, treating us all like old friends and signing more than the 1 item which I are allowed.

She may have changed in terms of her musical development and performance skills in the years since I first met her but that beautiful girl next door is still there ready to talk and pose for pictures.

All in all another fantastic night.

Anyway, got to go, flight's just been called (not that I feel like I need an aircraft to fly to Edinburgh after last night :P

In addition to the advertised programme, we had the usual encore of We'll Meet Again and during the now traditional question and answer session, we had imprompteu renditions of I Vow To Thee My Country and the Welsh National Anthem.

The usual Katherine frock changes were to the fore once again, I'll let the ladies of the forum describe those as this is not an area of my expertise!

Katherine sang very well indeed and as this was my first summer concert of the year, it was pleasing that there was a good selection of songs from most of Katherine's albums and not just songs from Believe being performed.

A quick word about Diana Yukawa, a very talented contemporary violinist who is only 24. I am sure that this young lady has a big future ahead of her, watch out for her album 'The Butterfly Effect' which is due for release later this year.

It was lovely to meet up with forum friends once again, thanks to all for you company during the afternoon and evening it was great.

Photos will no doubt follow from other members, as for once I didn't bother with the camera I just sat back and enjoyed the music!

Hylands House surenders to Katherine

I could have written this report even before the concert. We all know what to expect from this stunning lady who is now in the prime of her life. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Katherine provided the usual life changing experience for those people who had not seen her before and for the rest of us it was the usual 2/3 hours of sheer joy in true Katherine style with four changes into her new range of beautiful dresses.

This lady always gives a performance is if it was the last performance she will ever give. Katherine has said from the beginning her voice would mature when she became 30 and although I am not an expect I cannot possibly imagine it can get any better than it is now. Her voice haunts me, excites me and inspires me. The warmth and passion in her voice stir every emotion in my body. This lady is now totally at ease with her audience. The giggles, the smiles, the curtsey's and the interaction with the public show how much she loves her fans.

The evening past all too quickly for me sitting in the middle of the front row absorbing every sound and watching her every movement. My Classical Princess was absolutely amazing and now a day later I am still re-living the concert in my mind as best I can. Of course I am a little biased. Well alright very biased but this was truly a very special night.

Never know what Adjectives I can use to describe how Katherine woos her audience but I believe tonight she won many new admirers & friends & Fans in Whitehaven and Cumbria!

Katherine please return when you are able. Nice surprise to have Andrea Vassilli alongside.

Plus Mr Inglis & his motley crew who again were superb!! Usual Katherine frock changes variety of songs old & new ( always brill with Carmen) Tribute to Whitehaven tragedy with Angel. Plus an extra for me when she went into the intermission with 'Please leave notes at the front with questions and others birthday requests' plus what fun on return as she read them out along with admitting her own birthday was Monday ( Inglis said he didnt know)?

As usual final- final - final song then into another Last Night of the Proms. Standing Ovations and I sincerely believe if time could have stood still she would have continued on.

Thankyou again Katherine - you never fail me and I took along 2 friends who loved ya!

Sorry to Steve, Les, Len & Nicky said hello at beginning tried to find you intermission but had to leave after end to take friends home. Did U M&G if so it must have been fantastic?

Hampton Court Palace Festival

Here is our report of a rather soggy evening at Hampton Court last night.
We have to hand it to Katherine as she braved the wind swept rain driving onto the stage and yet she still managed to sing note perfect.
Her usual display of frocks were lovely especially the stunning sequin one.
Her supporting act Straight No Chaser were excellent but we would have preferred more of Katherine and less of them!
We also missed Katherine's usual conductor Anthony Inglis and thought Steve Sidwell could have worn a tie like his fellow members of the orchestra!
The audience were great despite the bad conditions and the setting being in the Courtyard magificent,if only the weather could have been kinder to us all!

Well, I just got home and what can I say! Stunning! Spectacular!
I am thrilled to have gone :) Also thrilled to have met some new forum friends!!! You are all fantastic people!
I am so grateful that I went ahead and my anxiety did NOT get in the way!!! :) I felt safe there with all my new friends and of course Katherine was well worth it!
Although there were a few sound issues, Katherine overcame them with such ease and grace, improvising wonderfully which made us all giggle, and then politely telling the sound guy to 'get his act together'!
What a wonderful night!

Hi all

A suggestion to all who are going to see Katherine on Thursday.

A few hundred yards away from the entrance to Wakehurst Place is a pub called The Gardener's Arms where i thought it would be great for those interested, to meet prior to the concert, renew old acquaintances and to make new.

I shall be there from about 2 oclock onwards with some of the gang, and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

If those of you interested, can you either make yourselves known on this thread or PM me with their proposed arrival times or if they have any questions?

Miss Katherine performed today in Washington D.C. for the National Memorial Day concert. She was wonderful. Couldn't recognize the song she sang, just enjoyed seeing her here on this side of the pond and very appreciated of her contribution the the U.S. service members.

Did anyone see last week's A Question of Sport.

In one of the questions the teams had to count up how many feet they saw in a clip of several sports events. The first clip was of katherine appearing at the special ceremony for the opening of the new roof at Wimbledon. It was wonderful to hear her wonderful giggle.

Hope we weren't the only one's who saw this.

Having been a fan of Katherine for several years I finally got the pleasure to go and see her in the flesh and hear her amazing voice on Friday night.
Can I just say that I wasn't disappointed and she blew the audience away with a spectacular performance that was also brilliantly choreographed and supported by classical violinists Escala who were equally fantastic.
My personal highlights had to be her rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Love Never Dies' and the 'Nella Fanasia' with which she closed the performance.
The Arena erupted into euphoric applause and I for one can't wait to see her again, surely by next year she should have conquered the world and for someone so beautiful and talented she emits such an heir of modesty.

BRIGHTON CENTRE - 10h March

Well, as has been said several times before on previous reports for this tour, "there are no words left which can adequately describe ones feelings and opinions about this presentation". I think i'll just say SUPERLATIVE.

Starting off with ESCALA. A polished performance, though i thought the sound was a bit on the light side, or maybe that was just me.
No such problem from then on though.
I was impressed with Amaury Vassili and will look out for his album release in May.
Katherine just entranced me throughout the entire performance(which she always has done ), though i choose Angel as the highlight for me, not only for the beauty of the song but also for the choreography too.
As for the "Carmen Set", Katherine you've made that part your own.
It was great again meeting those other Forum members, Julie and Becca, Jim, Pete, Len, but a noticeable absence of Blue Badges on the night. (For those without the badge, remember it helps a worthy cause.)
I took a few photos of the show and will post later but photos in this instant can't do justice to the spectacle i have just witnessed.

i have just arrived home from the katherine jenkins concert at the o2. I have to say it really was the most amazing concert i have ever been to. My arms still ache where i have clapped so much and i would glady do it twice over. Seeing katherine do all the acrobatics and dancing to was especially brilliant. i especially liked the bit with the tambourines. Escala and amaury vassili were out of this world to. Now i cannot wait until i get to go to the next kj concert.

Firstly may i apologise for not getting to see any forum members, not a good day at work and by the time i got to the venue and found my seat i just wasn't going to climb over the people in my row, and then back again.

The Show:

Escala were very good, the one criticism i have is that they seem to be choreographed to within an inch of their lives and i just wished one of the girls would just break ranks and really open up with some attitude, lol may just be me.....but the actual performance was brilliant.

Katherine was amazing as i would expect, quite a lot of variety and having read other threads, i can appreciate the dancers could be distracting, but for me the only time they really irked me was the performance of "Who wants to live forever?" , i could see where they were aiming but for me the dancing was out of place with the gladiatorial setting, although i wouldn't expect fighting either.....and it seemed quite camp which kind of wasn't in keeping in my opinion, although the ladies may well have liked the guys in their outfits ;)

Amaury Vasilli was for me the highlight of the evening, what an amazing voice from such a young man, he reminded me of of Andrea Bocelli very mature voice, outstanding.....the "Endless Love" duet may just make me buy the the new CD just for that.

Why oh why did people feel the need to leave, and miss "Bring me to life" and "Nella Fantasia", i was amazed that people were getting up and going, did they not think "Bring me to life" was going to be played......their loss sadly.

An awesome show from start to finish, and for me the highest compliment i can give is that if circumstances were different, i would go again tonight....and maybe even take my wife and daughter, safe in the fact they would enjoy it, even though classical & Katherine aren't really their cup of tea.

I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as me, looking forward to the DVD now........

After reading so many reviews and seeing so many wonderful photographs, I felt as though I had already seen the show. Well, eventually my turn came last night. What can I say that has not already been said?
Just as I expected the show was absolutely wonderful. It goes without saying that Katherine looked and sounded as amazing as ever. Last night was the eight time my wife and I have seen Katherine perform live, she just gets better and better. Last night's show was so different to the other Katherine solo concerts, much more like Viva La Diva.

To try and pick out highlights from the show is very difficult, I enjoyed every single item, however I will try
and share my favourite parts of the show.

I have seen Katherine perform her Carmen routine many times, but I still love it. Last night was as good as ever. I really hope Katherine gets to perform Carmen one day, wherever she does it I will do my best to be there.
I absolutely love Ancora Non Sai, and the staging of it last night was excellent. I also loved Adagio, it really suited Katherine's voice, her lower register is amazing. The piasnist wasn't bad either.
Angel was spectacular, Katherine was very brave and showed complete trust in the Aerielst. I also really enjoyed La Vie En Rose.
As for Bring me to life, well that was simply breath-taking, so much better live than on TV.

I think you've probably worked it out by now that I quite enjoyed the show. The supporting cast were excellent and Kim Gavin should be congratulated for his production.

Its not just the singing and dancing that is amazing in a Katherine concert, it is the lady herself, She is very special, her warmth, humilty and humour shines through in the little talky bits. Long may her star continue to rise.
