Hi, I had yesterday the day of my life. First a beautiful performance of Katherine in Turnhout in Belgium. After that I had the chance to get a signature and shake hands. The prestigious opera singer will be presented at the weekly party held on 21 May at 19:30 at a major hotel in this capital. Also act in "Susana Gimenez" on 23 March.
Your visit to our country comes as part of the jury of the new British reality show "Popstar to Operastar", in which pop stars have the potential to become stars of the opera.

After selling more than five million records, refused to pose nude Playboy and have been chosen by Andrew Lloyd Weber to interpret the main theme "The Phantom of the Opera II" Katherine Jenkins VIP guest will be presented on May 21 at the party that Revista Caras held in The Mansion of the Four Seasons Hotel.

The opera singer who embraces influences of pop and folk music and has 29 years emerged as one of the artists under thirty richest, according to the list that drafted the Periodic Sunday Times.

She has published nine albums, five of which reached the No.1 in the British sales charts and the other Top 5. She starred in a musical in the UK called Viva La Diva with Darcy Bussell where we pay tribute to great divas Doris Day, Edith Piaf, Marilyn Monroe, Maria Callas, Fred Astaire, Audrey Hepburn, Madonna and Moira Shearer

Hired for a show or appearance at a private event hire costs as much as Neil Armstrong (First astronaut to walk on the moon) or Mikhail Gorbachev.

The singer's shows began with dance and acrobatics, and she herself is part of it sliding down with ropes from the ceiling next to a acrobat.
He worked as a singing teacher and model.

In 2000 she won a modeling contest and became the Face of Wales 2000 (face of Wales 2000).

He sang for Pope John Paul II (Jubilee 2003) and Sydney Opera before releasing their first album.

In June 2008 she released her first autobiographical book (Time To Say Hello).

She has done duets with large and Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli and was the first artist to sing the anthem in English Football final in 2008 at Wembley Stadium (FA Cup Final 2008).

With all this history behind her, Katherine Jenkins come to Argentina and, among other actions, the singer will be presented to VIP guests at the party to carry out the Revista Caras on May 21 at 19:30 at The Mansion at the Four Seasons Hotel.

KATHERINE JENKINS - BELIEVE - LIVE FROM THE 02 is part of special programming airing in July-August 2010 (check local listings) on PBS stations. The concert special, filmed in March 2010, as part of Welsh Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins' Believe tour was filmed at London's O2 Arena.

Hi, www. een.be/programmas/vlaanderen-muziekland. On this Belgium site they say that on Friday 30 July there is an open air music-festival in Turnhout, Belgium with Katherine as one of the guests. This festival (Vlaanderen-muziekland) is live on the Belgium t.v. The channel is België één, 20.30 hr. (Belgium Time). It is 15 miles from my home, I can't believe it ,that Katherine gives a performance so nearby. :D bye, Jos

A reminder that Katherine can be seen again in this great programme at 9.30pm-11.00pm this evening.She was unfortunate enough to be up against the World Cup Final live on BBC1 and ITV1 when it was first broadcast last Sunday.I think the repeat might well get a bigger audience than the original showing.

I believe programme is viewable through Freesat and Sky if you are outside of Wales.I don't have either but I found it on Freeview channel 8 which I was able to pick up in Blackpool by retuning my TV.Admittedly this will probably only work if you are in a neighbouring region to Wales-and if you are lucky.My downstairs TV receives all the Welsh TV channels and a couple of Wesh radio channels too.The upstairs set doesn't pick up any of them!

Anyway,hope as many of you as possible can tune in.:)

Mel is notorious for repeatedly claiming they have sex five times a day. And judging by the way they were joyously groping each other, I think this is one bedroom-prowess boast I actually believe.

'Take me to our room,' Mel demanded, excitedly. 'Don't you get worn out?' I asked Stephen.

TUESDAY, JUNE 15

Turned on the TV this morning to see my friend Katherine Jenkins belting out a song live on America's biggest morning programme, NBC's Today show. She's launching her debut album here.

This afternoon, I was back in the hotel bar - drinking tea this time, I hasten to add - when Katherine suddenly walked in. Seems like half of London is staying at the London.

'I'm not happy with you, Ms Jenkins,' I declared, solemnly.

'Oh, why's that Mr Morgan?' she replied, looking bemused.

'Because there's a danger you'll end up more famous than me in America if this morning's performance was anything to go by...'

She burst out laughing. 'Don't be daft. I've only just started. I'm singing at my publicist's apartment tonight, just three songs for the media. Do you want to come?'

'Love to, I'm not flying until late. Who's the publicist?'

'Liz Rosenberg.'

'Ah. Slight problem. Ever since she's looked after Madonna, I've referred to her as Godzilla...'

'I know, but it's OK. We've discussed it and I think she's prepared to take the risk of having you in her home.'

I arrived at the sumptuous flat at 7pm, and sat on a sofa as Katherine sang accompanied on the piano by her producer, legendary hit-maker David Foster. It's only when you're a few feet away from her that you appreciate the full power of her fabulous voice.

'Blimey,' I said when she finished. 'You nearly blew me out of the room.'

Then I eyed the attendant media, and could sense they were agog with excitement.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16

Liz Smith, the doyenne of American gossip columnists, was at the party too and wrote: 'Katherine has a ravishing voice, she sang magnificently. And she is also physically ravishing, Bardot-like in fact. So gorgeous that her talent seems almost secondary to those experiencing her for the first time.' High praise indeed.

Take it from me, Katherine Jenkins is going to be massive in America.

Hey guys! Well, it's been such a long time - I'm not sure where to begin! I reckon this might be a long one.

After leaving Argentina, I made a trip up to Washington USA, to sing at the 21st Annual Public Broadcasting Service National Memorial Day concert, which was to be shown on TV. I felt really honoured to be asked, as it was an especially emotional event for all those Americans who have family in the military. It was an amazing show, with loads of other American acts and an audience of 300,000, some sitting on the steps of The Capitol itself. I came on to sing The Prayer after a video that was shown about the war widows as a result of the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, which was really emotional, but it went well. I was shown the video before the show, and bawled my eyes out, it was so sad.

After my five days in America's capital, I came back to London for a few days and saw 'Love Never Dies' at the Adelphi Theatre, and I really enjoyed it! The special effects were brilliant, and the singing performance of the two leads was amazing. It's completely different to Phantom Of The Opera, but the Andrew Lloyd Webber music was great. I highly recommend it!

After that I had an absolutely crazy weekend. I performed for a TV show in Germany, got back from Berlin at something like one in the morning, then got up at seven to fly to Italy to perform at the amphitheatre in Verona. It nearly killed me! It was totally worth it though - I was not prepared for how beautiful the amphitheatre was going to be, and had never seen anything like it. It is possibly one the most romantic settings ever. If you guys are ever in Verona you should go and see an opera there, as it's the only working amphitheatre left in the world! I did a duet with Lucio Dalla, the world famous singer-songwriter who wrote 'Caruso' - I could not believe I was singing it with the composer himself! At the end when we all came on for the finale, I had tears in my eyes because it was just one of those incredible experiences!

After all this, I'm sure you're asking how I keep my energy levels up?! Well, I always try and eat well, usually something like fish and vegetables so that I can feel I'm being as healthy as can be, and I try to make sure we get time to sit down together, as that's really important. Also, I'm lucky that I can sleep absolutely anywhere - grabbing ten minutes here or there. It's a skill!

After Verona, I got back to London and went to an enormous party for one my friends who had just turned 60. It was at the Grosvenor House in Mayfair, and I performed, along with Motown legend Lionel Ritchie! There were also loads of comedians there, like Bobby Davro, Jim Davidson and Jethro, and it really was the most fun evening. One of my friends, Kev Orkian, from Armenia and on Britain's Got Talent, and I did a comedy musical routine. It was so hard to rehearse, as I had to learn not to laugh! I might do it in public at some point, so keep your eyes peeled!

After that I jetted off to New York for the launch of the album over there. It was a really quick trip, but it couldn't have gone any better. I did a photo shoot for 'Interview' magazine, one of the edgiest and completely different to any I'd ever done before. I then performed 'Love Never Dies' on the 'Today' show, and it went really well. I then went to a party hosted by Liz Rosenberg, and met lots of important media people, including my friend Piers Morgan! It's rumoured he's going to replace Larry King, which would be really exciting for him!

I flew back the following morning, performed in Sussex, and then the next day I played at Hampton Court, and it could not have rained any more! It was coming in sideways, and I felt really sorry for the audience! I've since been to Naples, where I performed on an Italian TV show, 'Una Voce Per Padre Pio', which was in memory of an Italian saint and raising money for Africa. It was also a complete washout - my 2nd concert in a week! And as a result of all the rain, I've lost my voice and have a terrible cold!

I've got two more shows coming up this week though, and the big one is playing in Whitehaven on Friday. It was planned before the terrible shootings there, but the people want it to go on, and I'm going to make some dedications for those that lost their lives. Then it's Chelmsford in Essex on Sunday.

Big personal news - it's my 30th birthday on Monday! I'm going away with the family to a private retreat somewhere secret in the UK. I've rented it out so 30 of us can go! It'll be a couple of days of us going out for dinner, hitting the spas and drinking Pimms. I can't wait! And I'm not stressed at all about hitting 30 - my 20s were better than I could have imagined. I'm just hoping to be a bit wiser in my 30s!

This is (I think) Katherine's first singing appearance at the Millenium Stadium since the RFU dropped her from the rugby internationals in early 2008 (much to my dismay).A very welcome return-all the more so as the event is to be shown on TV :):)

I've received an email from S4C to say that Katherine's 5/7/10 Opening Gala Concert is to be screened by them on 11/7/10-time to be announced.:D

Sadly,they confirm no current plans to repeat last year's O'r Brangwyn concert.:crazy:

Still-very good news overall-especially as I am now able to get a good S4C signal here in NW England!

Countdown to Armed Forces Day in Cardiff

SOUTH Wales is bracing itself for the biggest military event to honour our fighting forces.

The countdown has begun to Armed Forces Day, the national event being hosted by Cardiff on June 26.

With 37 days to go, the event’s Facebook group has smashed through 260,000 members as a new national TV ad is launched.

Organisers say it is an opportunity for the nation to show its support for all those in the armed forces community past, present and future, including serving troops, service families, cadets and veterans.

There will be events taking place across the UK, but Cardiff will be the focal point for national celebrations, with parades, live music, a fly-past from the Red Devils, parachute displays and military bands.

A variety of famous names have already signed up to support the day, including Dame Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins.

Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Brian Griffiths, said: “It’s fantastic for Cardiff and Wales as a whole to be given the opportunity to host the national event and our aim is to have an Armed Forces Day that Cardiff, Wales and of course the UK can be proud of.”
